I attended my first yoga class in 2003 and I knew something in me shifted. After years of trying different asana styles while living a toxic urban lifestyle, I made a choice in 2012 and began a disciplined Vinyasa practice. During the next several months, my entire being drastically shifted as I soon discovered that yoga was well beyond a physical practice. After releasing a 15 year relationship with alcohol, and shedding self-loathing and limiting beliefs, I was ready to live a life with purpose. With a yearning to learn more about my truth, I sold everything, quit my job, and left the United States to embark upon a spiritual journey throughout Southeast Asia that lasted over 5 years.
Within this time, I received a 200-hr Hatha yoga certification from Wise Living Yoga Academy in Thailand, 100-hr Yin yoga certification from Shanti Atma Yoga on Bali, and Reiki Level 2 certification from Marina Yoga in Thailand. I had the opportunity to learn from various teachers and hold space for students from around the world in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Spain, China, and United States. In 2018, I led my first yoga retreat in Spain. Another in Sri Lanka was supposed to happen in June 2020, but was canceled due to the world shutting down. I love the immersive quality of retreats and the deep connections with others...I look forward to offering more in the future!
In 2018, I returned to the United States and taught classes and workshops throughout Chicago for almost 2 years. The challenging transition from teaching in the East to the West only rooted me more deeply in my truth as a student and teacher. and I'm humbled to share my authentic, from-the heart teaching. My blend of spiritual and practical teachings safely invites you to dive into deeper layers of your being. In my classes, you’ll be met where you’re at through mindful sequences focused on breath and adapted for specific needs.
